Privacy Policy

Last updated June 26, 2026

This policy explains what Mensuria collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers your account information and the claim data — photos, addresses, and loss details — you upload to draft scopes.

This is a plain-language policy provided in good faith. Mensuria is a small company and this is not legal advice; we may update these terms and will flag material changes.

1. Your role and ours

When you upload a claim, the insured's information belongs to your adjusting work, not ours. You act as the controller of that data; Mensuria acts as a processor that handles it only to provide the service, on your instructions. You are responsible for having the lawful authority to upload insured personal information and photographs of third-party property (see our Acceptable Use Policy).

2. What we collect

  • Account information — your name and email, via our auth provider (Clerk).
  • Billing information — your plan and payment status, via Stripe. Card numbers are entered directly with Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Claim content you upload — field photos, the insured's name/address, carrier, measurements, and your notes.
  • Generated content — the AI-drafted scope and your edits/approvals.
  • Usage & logs — counts of claims generated (for plan limits) and basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service.

3. How we use it

  • To generate, store, edit, and export your scopes.
  • To enforce plan/trial limits and process billing.
  • To provide support and to secure the service against abuse.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your claim content to train any AI model.

4. Photos & location metadata

Field photos often carry embedded EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates. Before a photo is stored or sent for processing, we strip its metadata(re-encoding the image), so we do not persist or transmit the insured's geolocation.

5. AI processing

To draft a scope, your claim photos and notes are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic. Per Anthropic's API terms, your inputs are not used to train their models; they may be retained transiently for abuse monitoring and then deleted. A separately-contracted zero-retention arrangement is on our roadmap (see Security).

6. Sub-processors

These vendors may process data to operate Mensuria:

  • AnthropicAI model inference — reads photos + notes to draft line items.
  • ClerkAuthentication & account management.
  • StripeSubscription & payment processing (card data never touches our servers).
  • RenderCloud hosting & data storage (United States).

7. Storage & security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our cloud provider (Render), and every claim is scoped to its owner's account and enforced on every request. See our Security page for specifics and what is still on our roadmap.

8. Retention & deletion

We keep your claims and account data while your account is active. You can request deletion of a claim or your entire account at any time by emailing privacy@mensuria.com; we will delete the underlying photos, drafts, and exports within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal, tax, or accounting reasons (e.g. billing history). Self-serve deletion and export are on our roadmap.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@mensuria.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

10. Where data is processed

Your data is stored and processed in the United States.

11. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for sign-in and sessions (set by Clerk and Stripe). We do not currently run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. If we add product analytics, we will use a privacy-preserving tool and update this policy.

12. Children

Mensuria is a professional tool and is not directed to anyone under 18.

13. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; we will revise the date above and notify you of material changes. Questions? Email privacy@mensuria.com.
